Agent Bruno Fernandes Confirms Role in Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United Transfer. It’s funny how quickly things can change in football. It was not too long ago that Cristiano Ronaldo was looking set to join Manchester City.

Agent Bruno Fernandes Confirms Role in Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United Transfer:

Manchester United announced they reached an agreement to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus on Friday evening.

This is certainly an exciting time to be a Manchester United fan. The club’s fans have been waiting for it to happen for over a decade now though since he left the Red Devils to join Real Madrid back in 2009 in a then world-record move. So for them, it has been a long time coming.

The attacker, a legend in the halls of Old Trafford, has sealed a sensational homecoming hours after he seemed poised to join rivals Manchester City.

And now, Manchester United have already reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer as the Portuguese legend’s Old Trafford return looks to be only a matter of time now.

Bruno Fernandes has boldly claimed credit for Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United after the Red Devils confirmed that they have reached an agreement for the Juventus forward.

The ManCity club was already enjoying a brilliant summer transfer window having signed Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton before they even ended up making the move for Ronaldo.

The Portuguese captain, a legend in the halls of Old Trafford after a six-year spell between 2003 and 2009, has sealed a sensational homecoming after a decade away from the Premier League.

The Portugal legend is set to return to Old Trafford 12 years on from when he departed for Real Madrid, so long as he passes his medical in Lisbon and agrees on personal terms.

Fernandes has easily been one of the best players in the entire Premier League ever since arriving in January of 2020.

Now, Fernandes has led the reaction of his clubmates following the news that the 36-year-old will play for United once more, with the attacking midfielder – Ronaldo’s international team-mate – joking that he is responsible for the remarkable deal.

What did Bruno Fernandes say?

It looks like the Portuguese playmaker might have played his part in the move taking place.

Ronaldo’s arrival at Old Trafford would certainly open up a lot of exciting possibilities.

And Bruno Fernandes has been quick to highlight his role in the transfer.

Bruno Fernandes welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo back to Manchester United with an amusing message which outlined his role in the transfer.

Although Fernandes was clearly having fun with his tweet.

“‘Agent Bruno’?”

‘Agent Bruno’? 💼 😂
Welcome back home @Cristiano 🙌🐐 https://t.co/YoFBamTIAQ

Fernandes wrote on Twitter, complete with an emoji of a suitcase, shortly after news broke that Ronaldo would be headed to United, subject to personal terms, visas and a medical.

“Welcome back home Cristiano,” he added, with a subsequent emoji of a goat – to signify the forward’s assumed status as one of the greatest players of all time.

Fernandes – who, like Ronaldo, left Sporting to further burnish his reputation at Old Trafford – was just one of several players who offered their response to Ronaldo’s return.

Fernandes and Ronaldo are set to combine at Manchester United:

The 26-year-old will be delighted to join forces with Ronaldo at club level, having idolised him as a child.

“Growing up, everyone knows Cristiano was my favourite player,” Fernandes told United’s club website earlier this year.

He added:

“It wasn’t because he plays in my position as that wasn’t the case, but it was the way he worked every day, the mentality he had, the capacity he had to give 100 per cent in every game at a high level, for me, it was like a motivation like you always have to do better.

“He was scoring goals every game, but game after game he was still trying to improve, get better.”

Combining with Bruno Fernandes will certainly be one of them. The Portuguese international teammates are now set to combine at the Theatre of Dreams.

Fernandes and Ronaldo have had a pretty similar journey. Both of them arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon, and both of them have established themselves as absolute superstars of the game during their time at the Theatre of Dreams.

Now that he is set to play in the same team with Ronaldo, one would hope that he can take his game to the next level as well.

In addition to the Portuguese’s return, they have also recruited long-term target Jadon Sancho after last year’s dogged pursuit and brought in Raphael Varane to bolster their defence.

While the former has already made his United debut, the latter could well make his bow for the club this weekend when they face the Wolves in their final game ahead of the international break.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the midfielder had been in regular contact with Ronaldo during a press conference earlier on Friday.

“I didn’t think Cristiano was gonna turn out leaving Juventus,” said Solskjaer before Ronaldo’s announcement. “And it’s been speculation this morning and the last few days.

Now, they must definitely be considered as one of the favourites for the Premier League title.
