Is Notch Minecraft 2 Confirmed? Creator Teases a Minecraft Spiritual Successor. Today we are going to know about Minecraft 2 a game that Notch the original creator of Minecraft has just seemingly announced.
I think that this is pretty interesting because it seems like Notch is going to make this sort of open development to a degree with some form of Early Access and something that players can get their hands on.

Let’s get started so Notch effectively started this discussion himself by posting a relatively long X post,
“I basically announced Minecraft 2 I thought that maybe people actually do want me to make another game that’s super similar to the first one and I’m loving working on games again for some context.”
By the way, he was going to work on either a Rog-like or Minecraft 2 and he put it up to a poll. So that explains this later section,
“I don’t super duper care exactly which game I make first or even if I make more but I do know I’m making one. So I figured I’d absolutely be willing to give it an honest shot in the form of a spiritual successor to Minecraft.
I put up a poll about it my intentions are to be clear and honest about it saying that spiritual successors are usually kind of you know washed tragic.
The things I’m fearing in my next game is going to be anyway and try to push myself to avoid. So why not do the thing that more people do want and are willing to give me somehow even more money for I intend for the money to be spent for good?
But I learned that I fail a lot winning is failing until you make yourself succeed and I also very much value being a man of my word. So I also intend to do this in a way that in no way tries to sneakily infringe on the incredible work the Mojang team is doing.
And that Microsoft is successfully doing the Microsoft ification about and I respect them for doing that it’s their job and they from my understanding let the Studio do things their way which seems very fair to me.”

He elaborates a little bit more in the comments but there isn’t so much new information there rather he’s just repeating this sort of general idea.
So I do have a few thoughts about this I think the first one is obviously related to his political views in the past he has said obviously some pretty extreme things.
A lot of people are intrigued with the concept of a spiritual successor to Minecraft a lot of people feel like the initial development of the game was great they felt like old Minecraft was better.

Notch actually be better would a spiritual successor actually compared to the original game and people would be interested in it.
It’s already blown up all over Twitter and I imagine you know that whatever he makes people will be intrigued by what I’m also interested in is the concept of either alpha testing or beta testing for this new game.
You know Minecraft’s development was very unique because things were added on day by day week by week and we kind of got to see the game go from start to finish in full.
