Punjab Police Women Safety AppLlaunched:
Police have launched a special app for women in view of the increasing number of incidents of harassment against women.
Women will be able to seek immediate help in an emergency.
According to the details, it will be possible to contact 15 immediately through the application introduced under the name of the Women Safety App.
As soon as the button is pressed, all the concerned authorities including the police will know the location of the complainant.
Women will also be able to use the Emergency Live Chat feature.
Apart from the police, the app will also connect with Punjab Highway Patrol and Motorway Police. While the special complaint cell of IG Punjab will also be registered automatically.
The Women’s Safety app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store and App Store.

The app also lists various laws, government orders and ordinances for women’s awareness.
These include the Child Marriage Act, the Code of Conduct for Workplaces such as Offices, etc. The Harassment Act 2012, the Child Labor Ordinance and the Women’s Workplace Act 2010.
