According to media reports, at 6.30 pm, a female anchorperson was telling the audience about the weather when suddenly a clip of a video started playing on the screen. This clip of the video was 13 seconds long which automatically took the viewers by surprise.
Many people also took screenshots of the video on a private channel and some even made and shared the video which went viral as soon as they saw it.
The weather anchor kept reading the news, unaware of the situation. Washington police have launched an investigation after complaints were lodged by onlookers.
Police say complaints of showing videos on the news channel were received through several telephone calls. The management of the private news channel is fully cooperating in the investigation into the matter.
Police officials say the matter is being investigated as to how the video went on the news channel and who is involved.
On the other hand, the channel management has said in its statement that the video was broadcast live by mistake, for which we sincerely apologize to our viewers.
The statement said that the channel management is trying to prevent such an incident from happening again in the future, for which security and filters have been tightened.
