On Oct. 28, Shanquella Robinson travelled from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Cabo, Mexico, with her friends, reportedly Khalil Cooke, Malik Dyer, Wenter Donovan, Alysse Hyatt, Daejhanae Jackson, and Nazeer Wiggins.

Robinson’s parents, Bernard and Salamondra Robinson said her friends told them Shanquella died from alcohol poisoning 24 hours after arriving in Mexico.
However, the Robinsons received an autopsy report on Thursday, saying that Shanquella’s neck was broken and her spinal cord was cracked.

National agencies have become involved because Shanquella passed away in a foreign country.
The U.S. Department of State issued the following statement:
“We are aware of these reports. Protecting the welfare of U.S. citizens overseas is among our top priorities. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we have no further comment at this time.”
