The pair first clashed at UFC 251 when Usman’s original opponent Gilbert Burns withdrew from Jorge Masvidal stepped in on less than a week’s notice.

And the pair headlined the first pay-per-view event at fight island in Abu Dhabi with Kamaru Usman retaining his Welterweight title by unanimous decision.

The champ called for the rematch following his most recent win over Gilbert Burns promising to finish Masvidal this time.

Around the opening round began and Masvidal fired off with low leg kicks, Usman responded with a straight right and teased the takedown Masvidal threw a knee.

But Usman caught it and sent him down to the canvas. Masvidal stayed busy off his back throwing elbows and they slowly returned to their feet.

They began to exchange in the centre with Usman loading up and swinging with a big right. Masvidal responded with a knee as the round came to an end.

In the second round, Usman fired a big right hand that sent Jorge Masvidal straight down to the canvas. Usman followed up with some finishing shots until the referee stepped in and called a stop to the fight.

The referee herb dean stopped the fight at one minute two seconds of round two Kamaru Usman retained his Welterweight title for the fourth time.

Moving to nineteen and one and undefeated in the UFC Kamaru Usman is expected to take on Colby Covington in a rematch next.
